Your current mortgage does NOT need to be refinanced in order for you to obtain this Home Equity Loan. Do not refinance your current low-rate 1st mortgage if it’s in the 2% or 3% range. Instead, a Home Equity Loan will give you access to the cash you need. An appraisal may not be necessary, however, a, 620 credit score is required and you may borrow up to 97.5% of your home’s value.
